I have a ritual summoned Revendread Slayer on field with the eff of either player's turn banish a spell/trap card. On my opponents turn I activate the eff to banish s/t card, my opponents activates solemn strike on me. Can I banish revendread origin from grave and save my slayer? Everyone I ask says spell speed trumps.

Yes you can.

The "banish to save Revendread" effect doesn't activate, so spell speed is irrelevant.

Spell Speed just means you can't chain anything to a counter trap, aside from another countertrap. You aren't Chaining here, you just banish Origin from the graveyard at the time Slayer would have otherwise died, in the middle of Solemn Strikes resolution in this case.
