    In short, this archetype's meant to try to prompt some strategic play with unorthodox effects and Senet styled effects . . . and to try to put a bit of wind in this topic's sails. Thoughts behind the design within the spoiler.

    I figured I'd make something that revisited and (in the vein of what ABC did for Union) revamped the old, discarded Senet mechanic, and my thoughts drifted from there to the three chess-themed BattleChips from MMBN3 -- Pawn, Knight, and Rook -- and yes, in imagining what these monsters look like, I'd hope you take those designs into account in your own ideas of how they look. Anyways, from there I decided to make use/abuse of the pieces' behavoir in proper chess for some of their effects, and then for the support I ended up cooking up the idea of a multiplanar chessboard for a Field Spell (though in retrospect the name could also probably evoke something a bit more Skaia-ish just as well and still be good) and from there went and tried to build in some Chess strategy (and admitted oddball effects) into the backrow.

    Yes, the little 'bonus' effects of the Normal Spells are references to Alekhine's Gun and Alekhine's Defense, respectively. I've a soft spot for the former and the latter isn't too terribly far from zwischenzug to my uneducated eye, so I figured it'd work out (though naming the card of the latter was a pain in the ass).

    All that said, comments and feedback on the cards are appreciated (it'll help get this topic back on its feet)!

    HERO - Next Generation (Issue 1)

    Seems like there's not much traffic in there lately, is it? Well, here's a little something for this thread: following the loads of retools and remasters for old cards that seems to define the current era, a reboot for one of the oldest archetypes of the game! Now, I know that with over 100 cards in the archetype this already has a lot going for it, so this time I'm focusing on some of the very first cards of the archetype, cards that nowadays, with their lack of effects and the overly specific requirements for the fusions, wouldn't stand a chance anymore.     Main Deck Monsters

    NEXT HERO - Kid Feather (OCG: Nx・HERO キッドフェザー)
