[OCG] Our Rex is bigger than yours

A new Structure deck R, that a certain card could have teased, have been officially announced by Konami

This picture of an order form reveals that the next Structure Deck R will be 恐獣の鼓動 (Kyoujuu no Kodou). This name is very similar to the Japanese name for the ninth Structure Deck “Dinosaur’s Rage” from 10 years ago.

This product has the same content as the previous Structure Deck R decks:
    -40 cards
    -1 additional card
    -1 token
    -1 rulebook
    -1 playing guide
    -1 dueling field
-A generic statement on how this is a revised strategy of the old deck, it has new cards and reprints, it’s ready to be played, and it works for both beginners and seasoned players, just like all the other Structure Deck R decks.

The release date is the 25th of Febraury, 2017.

As for trivia and what the deck may be about, the old deck is named 恐竜の鼓動. The difference lies in the first word (恐竜 vs. 恐獣). In the first deck, 恐竜 is the name of the Dinosaur Type. In this new Structure Deck R, 恐獣 is a term used in the name of some “Tyranno” monsters, such as Super Conductor Tyranno, the cover of SD09. So an appropriate name may be “Tyranno’s Rage”. There are only 4 monsters in the OCG whose name contains “恐獣”:

    •Ultimate Tyranno (究極恐獣)
    •Super-Ancient Dinobeast (超古代恐獣)
    •Super Conductor Tyranno (超伝導恐獣)
    •Black Tyranno (暗黒恐獣)

Super-Ancient Dinobeast is not a “Tyranno” monster in the TCG, and conversely, Tyranno Infinity is not a “恐獣” monster in the OCG (ディノインフィニティ == Dino Infinity) and Galaxy Tyranno’s name doesn’t have the right Kanji, even if it’s read “Tyranno” too. The deck will probably focus on the bigger Tyrannos that don’t have name discrepancies, but having so few Dinosaur-Type monsters, we’ll most likely see some old favorites too.

Huh, I think Konami actually did "get on their job and make it happen" lol.

So, will it be Monarch's level of meta defining, Felgrand's level of being only a random support to another meta or AG's level of being strongly enhanced, but not quite there yet in the meta?
I don't care, as long as Dinos are not getting the dick anymore, and getting some respectful, hopefully, support.
Doesn't even have to be meta.

As for the naming problem, TCG is gonna try to fuck up some cards to get it squeeze in there.
They will either change some names, exclude some names or both.
    RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINN!!!!

To be fair, the new Structure Deck doesn't have to make a new archetype (Felgrand didn't), so the naming might be a non-issue: maybe it will focus on support for high-Level Dinosaurs? IIRC, the cover card for the original SD is a high-Level, high-ATK monster with no particular summon conditions: the new support might focus on ways to bring out monsters like that quickly, like Felgrand with Dragons. With a late-February release date, though, we probably won't get anything new about it until at least December, or even January.

Kenzan is crying tears of joy. I'd say we are now officially in the era of GX nostalgia support.
Current decks: Salamangreats, Knightmare Cyberse, and Odd-Eyes Performapals
Originator of the Tulpa Summon, and the homebrewed cards you use with it.

If they decide to remake the Dark World Structure Deck, maybe...

Was there any other Fiend Structure Deck before?
