Honestly, the real reason they weren't allowed to be Divine/Divine-Beasts can be summed up to a special snowflaking of the Egyptian Gods. In series, they had as much right to be Divine/Divine-Beasts as their original series counter-parts, what with being mythological deities, but because they wanted to keep the "special-ness" of the Egyptian Gods, they were denied this right in real life.

It's why Obelisk, Slifer, Ra (and its other forms) and The Creator of Light are strangely and suiously the only Divine Monsters out there, and why the latter was even given a brand-new Type just to make it even more of a snowflake. It's kind of sad, really.

All true. Regardless, however, this is the reality we were given. And in this reality, expanding the Aesir to include a complimentary second trio is within the realm of reasonability.

Frigg, Mother of the Aesir. Sif, Lady of the Aesir. Hel, Daughter of the Aesir.

I'm not saying it's not, I'm just weeping for the Divine/Divine-Beast circumstance for a moment.
